Youthdale Treatment Centre’s Board of Directors is seeking skilled and passionate volunteer board members to help guide the organization to empower young people to lead ‘healthy and thriving futures.’
We are looking for dedicated individuals to help drive our initiatives forward and making a meaningful impact in the lives of those we serve.
Organization Overview
Youthdale Treatment Centres is a leading non-profit and charitable community agency dedicated to serving children, youth, and families from diverse backgrounds and communities across Ontario struggling with complex mental health needs. We work collaboratively through active partnerships between the agency, youth, and families to create meaningful engagement and effective treatment, resulting in positive outcomes.
Role Overview
The Board of Directors has overall responsibility for the governance of Youthdale Treatment Centres including the following:
overseeing and guiding the organization’s executives;
reviewing and approving the organization's financial statements, budget, and financial policies;
ensuring there are adequate systems and controls in place to ensure quality care;
overseeing the management of risk;
ensuring regulatory and ethical compliance; and
monitoring the implementation of strategic policies.
Who we are looking for…
We are seeking a mix of individuals with previous board experience as well as those who are interested in gaining board experience and have other strengths and lived experiences to contribute.
The Youthdale board is committed to fostering an inclusive board meeting and organization culture. Youthdale serves children, youth, emerging adults and families from diverse backgrounds and communities across Ontario and we value the importance of reflecting those backgrounds on our board. Youth mental health is a universal concern, and we need board members from all backgrounds and swaths of life to help build our young people’s futures. We know that we make better decisions when we have diverse experiences, skills and perspectives participating in decision-making.
Ideal candidates will also bring expertise in one or more of the following areas:
Not-for-profit governance policy/legislation
Mental Health sector
Executive/senior level leadership
Commercial real estate
Labour law
Risk / Strategy
