Medical Consultation Clinic
The Medical Consultation Clinic (MCC) is an outpatient psychiatric consultation clinic that offers a one-time psychiatric assessment for youth 5 to 17 years of age. A Physician or Nurse Practitioner referral is required for the MCC. This service is not self-referral.
Once a completed referral is received, it will be reviewed for appropriateness. The agency will contact the legal guardian or youth (if old enough and indicated on the referral) and arrange an appointment. Both guardian and child/youth will be asked to attend (unless a youth indicates otherwise). The appointment will last up to 2 hours.
Once the appointment is booked you are responsible to attend. If you wish to cancel, guardians/youth must notify the clinic at least 48 hours before the date or you will be billed $150.00.
Eligibility Criteria
Consultations are limited to one per 24 month period; unless the same patient is referred to the same consultant a second time within 1 calendar year for an unrelated diagnosis.
This service is not for imminent risk concerns (for example acute suicidal ideations). If you have an imminent risk, please connect with your local emergency departments.
