  • Mamta Chail

    President and CEO

    Mamta is a Social Advocate/Disrupter and Mother of Two, which drives her passion for wellness and improving the mental health and quality of life for children, youth, and families. Prior to her role at Youthdale, Mamta’s background is derived from over 20 years’ experience in the not-for-profit sector in counselling, addictions, mental health, justice and residential support. She joined Youthdale in 2020, during a challenging time due to the ongoing pandemic.

  • Shawnna Balasingham

    Executive Director, Clinical and Service Excellence

    Shawnna has a clinical background in social work. Prior to joining Youthdale in 2022, she held leadership roles at CAMH and The Scarborough Hospital. Shawnna is passionate about mental health and has years of experience with implementing quality improvement initiatives aimed at increasing access to evidenced based care.

  • Dr. Mitesh Patel

    Chief of Psychiatry

    Dr. Mitesh Patel brings a wealth of experience and expertise to Youthdale. As an Education Scholar, Dr. Patel has been published widely and holds a Masters of Science in Community Health for Health Practitioner Teacher Education. As one of a few dually qualified Child, Adolescent and Forensic psychiatrists in the country, his unique skills set, encompassing developmental neuropsychiatry, mental health of youth raised in at- risk environments, and youth forensic mental health (criminal responsibility, fitness, and risk assessments) brings an elevated level of specialization to Youthdale. Dr. Patel joined Youthdale as Chief of Psychiatry in July 2023.

  • Jason Langer

    Senior Director, Quality & Evaluation

    Jason Langer joined the organization in 2004 and has worn many hats since. His roles span Intensive Treatment, Secure Treatment, Inpatient Services, and the Quality Department. Now, as the Senior Director of Quality and Evaluation, he leads Youthdale's mission to provide effective treatment for young people facing complex mental health challenges. Jason's exceptional leadership has led to excellent accreditation records and driven a culture of continuous quality improvement.

  • Nilesh Puri

    Nilesh Puri

    Senior Director, HR & Administration

    Nilesh completed his Master of Business Administration with a specialization in Human Resources Management. He is currently an active member of the Human Resources Professional Association and is a Certified Human Resources Leader. With his experience at HearttoHeart and Canadian Red Cross Society, Nilesh has demonstrated a passion for Health and Human Resources. Nilesh Joined Youthdale in 2020 and continues to engage, empower and elevate all staff in reshaping our organizational culture in alignment with our Strategic Plan.

  • Marium Yousuf

    Special Projects Lead and Executive Assistant

    Marium is a human rights specialist, with extensive work experience in human resources, governance and compliance, legal and project management. As an executive administrator, Marium provides support to the senior leadership team and the Board of Directors. Starting her career at Youthdale in 2018 as a part-time transcriptionist, she is a strong advocate for mental health and access to healthcare. Marium sits on the Board of Directors for South Asian Legal Clinic of Ontario (SALCO).
